classical Kathak I
CLASSICAL KATHAK I
Short compositions which weave complex rhythmical patterns through the fourteen beat cycle "Dhammar". Within this pure dance piece there is large scope for improvisation, in which a dialogue is created between dancer and tabla player. The dancer even speaks the "Bols", the dance syllables, before executing them. Live performance by Ioanna Srinivasan.
